PMO Advisor visiting Srinagar to review works under Smart City Project

: Developmental works under the Smart City project in Srinagar are been reviewed by the Advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Tarun Kapoor, who is scheduled to arrive here on Sunday. He will assess the ongoing and completed works under the said project.

A news agency (KNT) report quoting reliable sources states that Kapoor will chair a high-level review meeting at the Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) office. During his visit, he will also inspect prominent public infrastructure including the historic Clock Tower (Ghanta Ghar) and the newly developed riverfront along the Raj Bagh-Silk Factory Road corridor.
As part of his itinerary, Kapoor is expected to take a close look at key urban projects completed under the Smart City Mission, which aims to modernize public spaces and improve civic amenities across Srinagar.
It’s worth mentioning that Tarun Kapoor, a 1987-batch IAS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre, is known for his deep involvement in India’s energy and infrastructure policies. This marks his second tenure as an advisor in the PMO, having first been appointed to the position in May 2022. He currently handles matters related to the economy.
