PM’s 15th Rozgar Mela on April 26 to see 51k youth getting appointment letter

Rozgar Mela will cover nearly a dozen departments of the Central Government where they will get jobs.

JAMMU, APRIL 19 (STC): A Rozgar Mela is being held across the country at 46 locations including Jammu and Kashmir on April 26. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute over 51,000 appointment letters at the ‘Mela’ and address the new recruits virtually. As per the reports, the Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of some States/Union Territories will deliver the job letters physically among youth at these locations.
This is 15th ‘Mela’ in series since the day it was started by the Prime Minister with a view to boost employment opportunities. The first Rozgar Mela was held on October 22, 2022.
Notably, Rozgar Mela is acting as catalyst in further employment generation and provides meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in National Development directly.
According to the official reports, April 26 Rozgar Mela will cover nearly a dozen departments of the Central Government where they will get jobs. However, majority of jobs are being given in Revenue, DoPT and Home Department including the paramilitary forces.
“The new appointees have been inducted into various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/Public Sector undertakings (PSUs)/ Autonomous Bodies including Health and Educational institutes, Public Sector Banks and Administration of Union Territories (UTs) etc. Various Ministries and Departments have organized Rozgar Melas at about 45-50 locations across the country in which several lakh newly appointed candidates have received their letters of appointment so far,” the official reports said.
The report further reveals that the initiative of Rozgar Mela has enabled various Ministries and Departments as well as Government organizations to fill up their vacancies in Mission Mode. This has helped the Departments and organizations to provide high quality citizen services in Schools, Hospitals, Railway Stations, Police Stations, and Tax Offices etc. This has also benefited our defence and security organizations that will be able to better defend our borders and strategic assets.
