Police Commemoration Day: LG Manoj Sinha pays tributes to police martyrs

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 21 (STC): On the Police Commemoration Day, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid heartfelt tributes to the police martyrs, saluting their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to duty.
The Day is observed every year on October 21 to honour the memory of ten brave policemen who laid down their lives in an ambush by Chinese troops at Hot Springs, Ladakh, in 1959. Since then, the day has symbolized the courage, valour, and dedication of the Indian police force.
The LG in a post on X wrote: “On Police Commemoration Day, we bow our heads in homage to the memory of all police martyrs and gratefully remember those brave police personnel who are selflessly serving to ensure the integrity of the nation and the safety of its citizens.”
“The unwavering commitment of police and paramilitary personnel who continue to safeguard the lives and liberties of people, often at great personal risk is praiseworthy,” LG Sinha said.
Police Commemoration Day serves as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by police personnel in upholding law and order and protecting the unity and integrity of the country.
