Police recovers explosive material, AK-47 rifle in Faridabad, Haryana: Report

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 10 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir Police have recovered a huge quantity of explosive material and an AK-47 rifle with ammunition from Faridabad, Haryana. The recovery was made on the disclosure by a doctor from Qazigund who was arrested from UP earlier this week, said a report quoting police officials.
The recovery has been done in coordination with Haryana Police. The recovery came following revelations made during the interrogation of Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather, a Kashmiri doctor earlier arrested from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly putting up Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) propaganda posters in Srinagar, the report said.
In the operation, the J&K Police detained two doctors suspected of having links with banned terrorist networks. One of them, Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather, son of Abdul Majeed Rather from Qazigund, Anantnag, had been working as a Senior Resident at Government Medical College, Anantnag, until October 24, 2024. The second doctor, Dr. Muzamil, is also alleged to have connections with the same terror network and was arrested from Uttar Pradesh.
Quoting sources, reports reveal that the explosives and arms is linked to investigations involving arrested doctors.
Notably, J&K Police had also recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition from Dr. Rather’s locker at GMC Anantnag.
An FIR under Section 7/25 of the Arms Act and multiple sections (13, 28, 38, 39) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) has been registered by the police.
