Pre-dawn raids by police at JeI-linked locations in Budgam

BUDGAM, NOVEMBER 27 (STC)
: Jammu and Kashmir Police carried out a series of pre-dawn searches and raids today at multiple locations linked to the proscribed Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) in the district, said reports. The action followed by intelligence about alleged anti-national activities by certain members.
According to officials, coordinated search operations were conducted in Chadoora, Soibugh, and Beerwah areas. The raids were carried out strictly in accordance with legal procedures and involved teams of police officers, lady police personnel, and local numberdars.
During the searches, authorities seized several electronic devices, documents, and other materials from the residences of individuals associated with JeI as well as from JeI-linked institutes.
Police said the operation was part of an ongoing effort to dismantle the terror ecosystem and curb separatist propaganda associated with the banned organisation.
An official said, “Through such sustained operations, Budgam Police reaffirms its commitment to ensuring peace, security, and a terror-free environment in the district.”
