: Previous governments in Jammu and Kashmir apart from causing destruction in the region, passed laws on GST and resorted to removal of government employees, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said today in an election rally in Budgam. Besides, he took a dig at his Srinagar MP Syed Aga Ruhullah for ‘preferring’ to be in Germany than driving the election campaign of the party in the Budgam constituency.
He said Mehbooba Mufti was the first to sign the BDP-BJP government orders, which resulted in firing of government employees, and that the community had not delivered to the people.
“We are trying to fix that destruction. That is why I am not afraid of them. My only effort is that the people of Budgam get the right representatives for the next four years,” he said.
He further said, “I want the people of Budgam to use their votes correctly and elect representatives who can live with the government and serve the people of Budgam. We will develop Budgam as a model assembly. Constituency.”
Addressing his party colleagues, Omar said, “You don’t win any election before the polling. We will have to work hard.”
The Chief Minister also took a dig at Srinagar MP Aga Ruhullah. He told the gathering that Ruhullah is in Germany while he and the party are in Budgam, among the people, fulfilling their aspirations.
Abdullah said he has never forced anyone to join an election campaign or refrain from doing so.
He added, “We are among our people. We are listening to our people. We are fulfilling the demands of our people. That is why people chose us. They didn’t elect us to sit in Germany. We will continue to fulfill the demands of our people and solve their problems.”
