Redeveloped old Amira Kadal bridge thrown open for public; LG Sinha performs inauguration

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 20 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today inaugurated the redeveloped Amira Kadal bridge in Srinagar. The bridge is equipped with improved walkways, seating facilities and modern lighting arrangements to enhance public access and safety.
The redeveloped old Amira Kadal bridge on the Jhelum river, has been redesigned exclusively for pedestrians as part of the Srinagar Smart City project, said officials and added that it integrated heritage elements into the city’s riverfront development.
Meanwhile, the lieutenant governor was accompanied by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg, senior police and civil administration officials, and the MLA from Lal Chowk during the inauguration.
The project is intended to provide residents and visitors with a dedicated public space while easing foot traffic in one of the city’s busiest commercial zones.
