Restrictions to continue to remain in force in Kashmir tomorrow

STC NEWS DESK
SRINAGAR, MARCH 05 (STC): Authorities have decided to enforce strong restrictions in all districts of Kashmir on Friday as a precautionary measure. Authorities also said that Besides, internet services will remain limited to 2G speeds and services on prepaid mobile connections will continue to remain suspended in the Kashmir region.
The decision was taken to maintain law and order and prevent any escalation of tensions, particularly after demonstrations emerged in parts of the region earlier this week, said officials.
“Security forces will maintain heightened deployment across major towns, with strong restrictions on movement in sensitive areas on Friday,” officials said.
“Any further decision on easing restrictions will be only taken after Friday prayers,” a senior official added.
Officials said the measures are temporary and aimed at ensuring public safety and preventing the spread of misinformation or mobilization that could lead to unrest.
“The situation is under close monitoring. Further decisions will be taken depending on the ground situation,” a senior official said.
Authorities stated that the overall situation across Kashmir has largely remained under control.
