Security forces recover arms consignment dropped by Pak drone in Samba: Officials

JAMMU, JANUARY 10 (STC): Security forces have recovered an arms consignment on Friday dropped by a Pakistan-based drone in the Regal forward area near the International Border in Samba district, reports quoting officials said.
Reportedly, the seized cache included two pistols, three magazines, 16 rounds of ammunition and one grenade. The recovery was made during a joint operation launched by security agencies following specific inputs about suspicious aerial activity along the border.
The area was cordoned off and a thorough search was conducted, leading to the recovery of the arms and ammunition.
Security agencies have initiated further investigation to ascertain the intended recipients of the consignment and the route used for its delivery, reports quoting officials added.
No arrests have been made so far.
