SNOWFALL AFTERMATH: Restoration of essential services being done on fast track, says Div Com Kashmir

: Restoration of essential services across the Kashmir Valley is progressing at a fast pace following widespread snowfall, with power supply and road connectivity being normalized in most areas, said Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Ansul Garg.
Speaking on the situation, the Divisional Commissioner said all power stations in the Valley are expected to be restored by Saturday, adding that electricity restoration work is being carried out on priority to ensure minimal inconvenience to locals. He said teams are working round the clock to repair damaged lines and infrastructure affected by snowfall and strong winds.
Garg said road connectivity is also improving rapidly, with snow clearance operations underway in areas where roads could not be cleared earlier. He said concerned departments have been directed to accelerate snow removal to ensure smooth movement of traffic, particularly on major routes and interior roads.
The Divisional Commissioner further said that both train and air services are now operational, providing much-needed relief to the public after weather-related disruptions. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure uninterrupted services in the coming days.
