Speak in Hindi or local language to stay connected with roots: Home Minister Amit Shah

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 10 (STC): Union Home Minister Amit Shah speaking at Maheshwari Global Convention in Jodhpur today has said that people may learn and use any language as required, but communication at home should be in Hindi or local languages.
He said speaking to children in their mother tongue helps them stay connected with their history and native place.
Stating that language plays a key role in preserving society, culture and religion, he stressed the need to promote indigenous products and the use of mother tongues.“Language keeps society, religion and culture alive,” Shah said.
The Home Minister said that while foreign languages can be used where necessary, parents should speak to children at home in their mother tongue.
Referring to Atmanirbhar Bharat, Amit Shah said that achieving the goal of making India a developed country by 2047 requires focus on indigenous production. He described “Swadeshi” as the main approach to achieve this goal.i
He urged business communities to develop at least one product that is not currently manufactured in the country to support domestic production.
Amit Shah said that if each community supports its weaker sections and becomes self-reliant, the country will also move towards self-reliance.
