Special Secretary Higher Education Department Visits Government Degree College Hyderpora

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 10 (STC): Shafqat Iqbal, Special Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department, accompanied by the Director Colleges, paid a surprise visit to Government Degree College (GDC) Hyderpora.

The dignitaries were warmly received by the Principal and the college staff, who welcomed them with bouquets as a gesture of respect and appreciation.

During the visit, the officials took stock of the ongoing developmental works and inspected the newly completed main building, where the college is set to be shifted in the coming weeks.

Special Secretary and the Director Colleges also interacted with both permanent and contractual faculty members, seeking feedback and suggestions on improving academic standards, enhancing the quality of higher education, and ensuring transparency and fairness in the recruitment of academic arrangement staff.

The Principal briefed the visiting officers on the progress achieved, highlighting the infrastructural and academic developments undertaken by the institution. The dignitaries lauded the Principal and the entire staff for their dedicated efforts in completing major infrastructure projects within a short timeframe.

During the interaction, the Principal also raised several pressing institutional concerns, to which the officers assured timely and positive redressal.

In his concluding remarks, the Principal expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Special Secretary and the Director Colleges for their visit, encouragement, and continued support toward the holistic development of GDC Hyderpora.
