Student charred to death and many injured in devastating fire at religious seminary in Tral

A devastating fire incident today at a religious seminary in the Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district left a 12-year-old student dead and many injured.
An official told that fire broke out at Darul Uloom Shah-e-Hamdan in Tral town on Saturday late night, causing panic among students. The incident resulted in tragic death of 12-year-old local student, identified as Yasir Ahmad son of Bashir Ahmad, a resident of Karmula Tral. Several others were also injured in the incident.
An official said that locals, officials of fire & emergency service department along with police reached the spot to control the fire. “The fire was brought under control after strenuous efforts, ” he said.
He said that there was extensive damage to the religious seminary in the incident.
Meanwhile police have taken cognizance and started an investigation in this regard. (STC)
