Mirwaiz North Kashmir, Moulana Parray Hassan Afzal Firdousi, stated this in a handout issued to media today.
Basically, Mirwaiz North Kashmir, Muslim Mutahida Mahaaz JK and Mutahida Aima Form JK under the leadership of its chairman Moulana Parray Hassan Afzal Firdousi, has called for unity, understanding, and respect among all sections of society, especially in light of the recent controversy surrounding the remarks made by Moulana Showkat Ahmad Shaheen about Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers, reads the statement of Mirwaiz issues by his spokesperson.
“Islam accords a noble status to teachers, recognizing them as the torchbearers of knowledge and the builders of future generations,” said Mirwaiz North in the statement.
He acknowledged that human errors can occur, even by respected personalities, and highlighted the importance of humility and forgiveness in resolving such matters. “Moulana Showkat Ahmad has tendered an apology for his unintended remarks, and as responsible citizens, it is important to accept the apology in the spirit of reconciliation and brotherhood,” he said.
While urging all stakeholders to maintain the sanctity of sacred platforms, Mirwaiz North Kashmir appealed to religious leaders to use their sermons for unity, guidance, and spreading the message of love and mutual respect. He also called upon the ReT community to show magnanimity and rise above the issue, emphasizing that social media debates and negative narratives only deepen divisions.
“Together, we must uphold the dignity of every individual, honor the sanctity of sacred platforms, and work toward the larger good of society. Unity and mutual respect are the foundations of progress,” Mirwaiz Hassan Firdousi added.
