UBI donates Rs.1 crore towards flood relief, presents cheque to CM

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 23 (STC)
: Public sector bank Union Bank of India has donated Rs.1 crore as a support to the ongoing flood relief efforts in Jammu and Kashmir.
A cheque was formally handed over to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at Civil Secretariat here today.
The Chief Minister appreciated the gesture of the Bank, noting that such contributions would significantly aid in relief and rehabilitation measures for the affected people. He said collective efforts from institutions and individuals play a crucial role in helping the State recover from the calamity.
Meanwhile, as per reports Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen and MLA Budhal, Javid Iqbal, called on the Chief Minister at the Civil Secretariat. They discussed key developmental issues concerning their respective constituencies and sought the Government’s intervention in addressing the pressing needs of the people.
The Chief Minister assured them that the concerns raised would be duly examined and appropriate steps taken to ensure balanced development across all regions.
