Unidentified persons gunned down man in Jewal Chowk Jammu

Jammu, January 21 (STC): panic gripped the busy Jewel Chowk area of Jammu, following a firing incident today in which one person got critically injured. The person, reportedly, succumbed to his injuries.
He was identified as 37-year-old Sumit Jandial, son of Om Parkash, resident of Vijaypur.
According to official reports, few rounds of fire were reported in the Jewel Chowk area of Jammu, leaving one person critically injured.
Giving details of the incident, an official told media that the man, travelling in an SUV, was attacked by unidentified persons, who were already present in the Jewel Chowk.
He said that four bullets were fired at him and he sustained grievous injuries. “The injured was rushed to government medical college Jammu where he was declared dead on arrival, while unknown assailants have managed to flee from the spot.”
Police have reached the spot and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident.
