Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan chairs high-level security review meeting at SKICC

Srinagar, December 31(STC): Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan Monday chaired a high-level security review meeting at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC). He also visited prominent landmarks in Srinagar, including the historic Clock Tower at Lal Chowk and the Balidan Stambh at Pratap Park.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from various security agencies to assess the current security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, especially with the onset of the winter season and fresh snowfall.
The top police officers and other key personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, as well as central security agencies also attended the meeting .
The meeting discussed the security preparedness in the region as it enters the busy winter tourist season, while also addressing potential threats posed by the fresh snowfall in higher reaches.
Meanwhile, the Balidan Stambh situated at Pratap Park is a significant memorial honoring the sacrifices of soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation. The monument stands as a tribute to the courage and dedication of the armed forces.
It’s also worth mentioning that Lal Chowk’s historic Clock Tower also holds symbolic importance. Lal Chowk has been a site of political relevance.(STC)
