J&K Police launches physical verification of vehicles and records maintained by car dealers across Shopian

: In the aftermath of Delhi Car blast, Jammu and Kashmir Police has undertaken a comprehensive physical verification of vehicles and the records maintained by various car dealers in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The police in its statement has said that the initiative aims to ensure transparency in vehicle transactions and prevent any potential misuse of vehicles.
The police teams physically inspected vehicles present at dealerships and examined documentation related to the sale, purchase and transfer of ownership. Special emphasis was laid on verifying authenticity of transaction records, ensuring timely transfer of ownership and identifying any discrepancies that could lead to unlawful use, reads the statement.
The police has advised the car dealers to maintain complete, accurate and updated records of all vehicle transactions and to strictly adhere to statutory norms. They also sensitised dealers about the importance of record maintenance in strengthening overall security mechanisms in the district.
The police has maintained that the physical verification and scrutiny of records shall continue in the coming days as part of ongoing efforts to enhance monitoring, ensure compliance and safeguard public safety.
