: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) MLA Waheed-ur-Rehman Para today visited Javaid Mansoor Rather’s (Also known as Mubashir Mansoor) home in Hari Parigam to offer his condolences to the bereaved family.
A pall of grief has descended over Hari Parigam village in Tral after Javaid Ahmad Rather, popularly known as Mubashir, a photographer with the J&K Police Crime Branch, lost his life in the tragic Nowgam police station blast earlier this week.
Para while paying tributes to the deceased said, “Javaid was a dedicated professional and a humble soul. His service to the Crime Branch was invaluable. This tragedy has taken away a promising young man, and the entire Pulwama district mourns with the family.”
Residents of Hari Parigam gathered in large numbers as neighbours remembered him as pious, hardworking, and deeply committed to his job. His funeral prayers, held on Saturday, were attended by community members as well as officials from the police and district administration.
Meanwhile, MLA Waheed Para urged the government to provide immediate long-term support for his wife and child apart from the ex-gratia relief. Para further emphasised the need for enhanced safety measures for personnel handling explosive materials, calling the deaths “a painful reminder of the risks our officers face even outside combat operations.”
