SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 22 (STC): Former minister and Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari in a statement today urged authorities to ensure the safety and dignity of every Kashmiri living in different parts of the country. It’s imperative in the given situation which emerged after the November 10 car blast in Delhi. At the same time he emphasised that those responsible for the Delhi car blast must be identified and punished.
The Apni Party chief said that the Union Home Ministry must take firm measures to end the growing hostility faced by Kashmiri students and other communities following the incident. He added that several reports of harassment and intimidation have created fear among Kashmiri youth studying and working in mainland India.
Bukhari said the media carries a “serious responsibility” to report with caution and avoid narratives that could fuel hate or mistrust.
He cautioned that any form of hostility or suspicion toward Kashmiris only serves the agenda of those who want to widen the divide between Kashmir and the rest of India. He urged people across the country to remain vigilant against such attempts and to ensure that Kashmiris are not targeted in the aftermath of the blast.
