J&K all-rounder Auqib Nabi sold to J&Delhi Capitals for Rs. 8.40 Crore at IPL 2026 Auction

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 26 (STC): Jammu & Kashmir 29-year-old all-rounder, Auqib Nabi, has been sold to Delhi Capitals for ₹8.40 Crore at IPL 2026 Auction today. He entered his name in the all-rounders’ category for the mini auction with a base price of Rs 30 lakh.
Auqib Nabi is a right-arm medium pacer from Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir. Nabi, has played 36 first-class, 29 List A and 34 T20 matches so far.
Although Nabi has never played in the IPL before, he secured a bumper deal after impressing with his performances this year in the Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT).
Nabi has consistently impressed in domestic cricket with his pace and wicket-taking abilities.
Auqib Nabi has dismissed 125 batters in 59 innings across 36 first-class matches and has also scored 870 runs with the bat. In List A cricket, he has taken 42 wickets in 29 matches, while in T20s, he has dismissed 43 batters in 34 matches.
He was last seen in action on December 8, 2025, representing Jammu and Kashmir against Madhya Pradesh in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Elite Group B match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. In that fixture, Nabi scored 32 runs off 21 balls while batting at No. 7. He smashed two fours and three sixes for the Shubham Khajuria-led side before picking up three wickets for 19 runs in his four overs.
His superb all-round performance helped Jammu and Kashmir successfully defend a total of 150 runs and secure a 13-run victory.
Nabi finished the SMAT 2025 season with 15 wickets in seven matches and registered one four-wicket haul. His economy rate in the premier domestic T20 tournament stood at 7.41.
In the Ranji Trophy 2025–26 season, Auqib has picked up 29 wickets in five matches. Only one bowler — Siddharth Desai — has dismissed more batters than Auqib in the ongoing season.
Nabi also played a crucial role in Jammu and Kashmir’s five-wicket win over Mumbai in the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy match at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. In that match, Auqib picked up two wickets — Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tanush Kotian — in the first innings and dismissed four Mumbai batters — Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dube, Shams Mulani and Shardul Thakur — in the second innings.
