Police detains travel agent in Budgam for fake ticket Incident at Srinagar airport

: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Budgam have initiated a detailed investigation after a man was found carrying a fake air ticket at Srinagar International Airport on Friday. Preliminary findings have shown that he had been duped by a travel agent who has now been detained for questioning.
As already reported, the man, from Bugro, Khansahib, was stopped during routine checking at the airport drop gate when security personnel flagged discrepancies in his travel document. Airline staff confirmed that the ticket presented was forged, following which the passenger was handed over to Police Post Humhama.
Officials said early investigation indicates that the man purchased the ticket through a travel agent who allegedly provided him with fabricated travel documents. The travel agent has been detained and is currently being questioned to trace the source of the forgery and identify any possible wider network.
The case involves violations under sections 336(2) and 340(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A formal case has been registered at Police Station Budgam, and further investigation is underway.
