Law University at any place in J&K will benefit entire region: Sakina Itoo

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 15 (STC): The proposed Law University can be established anywhere in Jammu and Kashmir, but its benefits will accrue to people across all regions of the Union Territory, said Cabinet Minister Sakina Itoo today.
Itoo said the National Conference (NC) government believes in equal opportunities for children from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
“For the NC government, children of all regions—including Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh—are equal. The Law University can be established anywhere, whether in Baramulla, Anantnag or Budgam, but its beneficiaries will be students from across Jammu and Kashmir,” she said.
Responding to a question of reporters about protests by some groups in Jammu demanding that the Law University be established only there, the minister said, “There are some people who want to divide the UT. People are free to make their demands. They can even demand that two universities be established—one in Kashmir and another in Jammu,” she added.
