Security forces conduct search operation in Srinagar’s Abi Guzar area

SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 04 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir Police in coordination with personnel of 132 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force conducted a cordon and search operation (CASO) today in Abi Guzar, Srinagar and its adjoining localities. The security personnel conducted searches at commercial establishments and nearby residential stretches.
The joint operation was carried out as part of routine security measures to strengthen area domination and maintain vigilance in sensitive pockets of the city, said officials.
The operation was carried out in a calibrated manner, with movement regulated for a brief period to facilitate thorough checking. Officials said the exercise was aimed at deterring any potential threats and ensuring a sense of security among inhabitants.
No untoward incident was reported during the operation. Authorities said such area-based security drills are being conducted periodically in Srinagar as part of preventive measures to maintain law and order.
The officials reiterating that cooperation of the public remains crucial for maintaining peace and stability in the city.
