Work on Tulbul Navigation Project and lifting water from Chenab river to begin soon: CM Omar Abdullah

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 10 (STC)
: Following the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, the Union Territory government is working with the Centre on two things – one, the Tulbul Navigation Project near Sopore, and second, lifting water from the Chenab river near Akhnoor to provide water supply to Jammu.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said today in the Assembly and expressed hope that work on both the projects will begin soon.
He said the water supply project had earlier been submitted to the Asian Development Bank but was stalled due to the treaty.
