Security forces gun down two terrorists in Kishtwar encounter

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 22 (STC): Security forces have gunned down two terrorists in a joint security operation in Kishtwar district here today, officials said.
According to the reports, the operation, codenamed “Trashi-I”, was launched on the basis of specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
Officials said troops of the Army’s White Knight Corps, in coordination with Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF, launched a search operation in the region. Contact was established with the terrorists earlier, and security forces re-engaged them at around 11 am in difficult terrain.
In the ensuing encounter, two terrorists were killed, officials said, adding that their identities and group affiliations were being ascertained.
Reports also reveal that the security forces also recovered two AK-47 rifles and other war-like stores from the site of the encounter.
