Anti Corruption Bureau raids Deputy CM’s Brother’s residence in Jammu

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary terms the raids as “political banditry.”

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 25 (STC): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has carried out a raid at the residence of brother of the Deputy Chief Minister today. Reports quoting sources said that the raid has been conducted at his residence located in Santokh Vihar, Talo Kalo Chak area of Jammu, in connection with a disproportionate assets case.
The raid commenced early in the morning around 6:00 am and was continuing at the time of filing this report.
Brother of the Deputy CM, Vijay Chaudhary, is an Inspector in the J&K Police. Sources said he was transferred to Ladakh last year in September and is presently under suspension.

Reacting to the raid, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary told reporters that Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) raids at his brother’s residence is “political banditry,” alleging that the action was aimed at stalling his brother’s promotion and maligning his image.
The Deputy CM expressed sadness over the development, saying that instead of recognition, his brother was facing what he described as humiliation. He alleged that certain officers were attempting to suppress him and stop his promotion. “If Vijay Singh is wrong, let the law take its course. But if he is right, he deserves an award and promotion not this drama just before retirement,” he said.
Choudhary maintained that his family has earned everything through hard work and rejected allegations of wrongdoing.
