Fire mishap at PIB Office Srinagar, policeman injured

SRINAGAR, MARCH 11 (STC): A policemen was reportedly injured in a fire incident at the Press Information Bureau (PIB) Office at Press Colony in Srinagar today evening.
According to a report quoting an official said, Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) teams from the headquarters rushed to the spot and found a gas cylinder engulfed in flames inside the office building.
During the incident, SGCT Javaid Ahmad, who was posted at the office, acted swiftly and removed the burning gas cylinder from the premises, preventing a major mishap, the report quoting the official said.
The fire was later brought under control by F&ES personnel. However, during the rescue operation, the policeman sustained minor injuries and was shifted to a hospital where his condition is reported to be stable.
