SRINAGAR, JUNE 23 (STC): In the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) bribery investigation, local contractors in a statement have strongly defended the accusedSuperintending Engineer (SE) in the bribery case in which the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) recently raided his Srinagar residence.
Dismissing rumors of the officer fleeing from the investigation, the contractors described him as a dedicated public servant with zero ties to the alleged scandal.
Contractors clarified that the SE has not absconded and remains completely accessible, performing his routine duties during regular working hours.
The group in its statement has firmly asserted that the officer does not have a single link to the bribery case.
They expressed absolute confidence in the grassroots investigation being conducted by federal agencies.
”Law has its own course of action to ascertain the facts, and those who are guilty will be punished. He is available at all times during his routine duty hours. He neither absconded nor is he involved in this case. We have full trust in the law enforcement and scrutinizing agencies.”
