AMARNATH YATRA: First batch of pilgrims flagged off along Pahalgam route

ANANTNAG, JULY 03 (STC): First batch of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra was flagged off along the Pahalgam Axis in the early hours here today. Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat and Senior Superintendent of Police Amod Ashok Nagpure jointly gave the green signal to the first batch from the Nunwan Base Camp in Pahalgam.
The pilgrims were ferried from Nunwan to Chandanwari through a special shuttle service provided by the Motor Vehicles Department, officials said.
Elaborate arrangements, including essential facilities, medical aid, and security measures at various camps and stations enroute the Holy Cave were made to ensure a smooth and incident-free pilgrimage, they added.
Notably, senior officials, including Camp Director Atul Kumar, SDM Pahalgam, and other district administration and police officers, were present during the flag-off ceremony.
