New Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth reviews security and operational preparedness at Chinar Corps in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, 09 (STC): The new Army Chief, General Dheeraj Seth, in his first visit to the Kashmir, held meeting at 15 Corps Headquarters (Chinar Corps) in Srinagar, where senior military officers briefed him on the ongoing security situation in the Valley, counter-terrorism operations, military deployments and other important issues.
According to a statement issued by the Army’s Additional Directorate General of Public Information on social media platform X, the Army Chief in his first visit to Kashmir, was given a detailed briefing on the ongoing military operations along the Line of Control and the Valley, counter-terrorism operations, mutual cooperation between various security agencies, changing operational situation and security arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra.
The statement said that the Army Chief reviewed the use of modern technology, enhancement of military capabilities, adoption of modern combat systems and integrated combat readiness for all types of military operations.
On this occasion, General Dheeraj Seth appreciated the professionalism, high morale and performance of duties in difficult situations of all officers and men of the army. He praised the continuous services of the army for maintaining peace and stability, effective operations against terrorism and protection of the people and said that the army is fully prepared to deal with all kinds of challenges.
The Army Chief, while stating that the safety of the pilgrims during the Amarnath Yatra is the top priority, stressed on maintaining effective coordination between all the relevant forces. He said that security is being made more effective through modern technology, strong intelligence system and joint operations so that peace and order can be ensured in the border areas and within the valley.
