Dr. Karan Singh appeals Sonam Wangchuk to end fast

NEW DELHI, JULY 15 (STC): Dr. Karan Singh, former Union Education Minister, has appealed to Ladakhi social activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his fast. In a statement issued to media, Dr Karan Singh said, “If this continues, his life will be in danger. I appeal to him that having made his point he should now resume normal diet. We can ill-afford to lise him a talented innovator who has made an important contribution to life in Ladakh over the years.”
Notably, Sonam Wangchuk recently staged an indefinite fast in New Delhi at Jantar Mantar to demand accountability in India’s education system following alleged competitive examination irregularities, and to advocate for Ladakh’s statehood and constitutional safeguards.
During his protest, numerous public figures, political leaders, and medical experts appealed to him to call off his hunger strike due to concerns about his deteriorating health.
