India snubs Pakistan, says J&K was and will always be part of India

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 26 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir was and will always be a part of India. Islamabad is once again using the UN platform to publicize its position and divert attention from the issue of terrorism, said First Secretary of India’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Pital Gehlot. He rejected the allegations leveled against India by the Pakistani Prime Minister at the United Nations General.
The Indian representative also accused Pakistan of adopting a policy of “lies, deception and duplicity”. India said that the issue of cross-border terrorism from Pakistan has long been a major point of contention in the relations between the two countries.
According to the Indian representative, the problems created by terrorism cannot be ignored through political statements or allegations. New Delhi made it clear that any act of terrorism by Pakistan against India will not be seen as a normal political disagreement and such actions will be responded to. India also rejected the comments made by Shahbaz Sharif in his speech regarding Jammu and Kashmir and reiterated its long-standing position that Jammu and Kashmir is a part of India.
The Indian representative urged Pakistan to focus on its record and alleged infrastructure related to terrorism instead of commenting on India’s internal affairs. India also rejected Shahbaz Sharif’s statement regarding the May 2025 India-Pakistan military clash. The Pakistani Prime Minister, while mentioning the 2025 conflict in his General Assembly speech, had termed the intervention of US President Donald Trump as effective in reducing tensions.
Pakistan has meanwhile linked its actions to the right to self-defense, while India has presented a different position in this regard. India said that the operations carried out during Operation Sindoor were against terror-linked hideouts. New Delhi has also referred to direct military contact in its position on the ceasefire in May 2025.
The Indian representative also criticized Pakistan’s political system and the role of the army in its response. “There are questions about the role of the army in real decision-making in Pakistan,” the statement said and made it clear in its reply that cross-border terrorism will be taken seriously in the future as well and will remain committed to taking action against those responsible for and abetting any act of terrorism.
