SRINAGAR, JUNE 19 (STC)
: Even as evacuee Kashmiri students studying in Iran have thanked the Indian government for bringing them safely from the conflict-torn country, they have expressed displeasure over the buses that the Jammu and Kashmir government has provided to them to travel back home from Delhi.
Some parents while talking to Straight Talk Communications (STC) in response to the reports have shown disappointing to see such buses for the students who have already travelled almost 800 to 900 kms from Tehran during their relocation to safer places in countries bordering Iran. “Now making them to travel again by road from New Delhi to Srinagar would injustice and stressful for them,” they said and made a fervent appeal to the J&K government to facilitate their air travel to their home place.
Meanwhile, it has been learnt that the office of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has been coordinating with the Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation to ensure “proper deluxe buses” for them.
Talking to reporters at Delhi airport, some of the students said it would be “difficult” for them to travel back to their homes in a bus.
