Student revenges slap; shoots teacher in Uttarakhand school

: Slapping and scolding a Class 9 student for failing to answer the question properly earned the teacher a bid on his life. The incident happened student in a private school in Uttarakhand’s Kashipur.
The student opened fire on the teacher leaving him critically injured. According to the police, the boy had smuggled the gun inside his lunch box.
The incident took place on Wednesday morning at Shri Gurunanak Senior Secondary School on Kundeshwari Road. Physics teacher Gagandeep Singh Kohli had just finished class and was stepping out when the student pulled out a country-made pistol from his tiffin and shot him from behind, said a report and added the bullet struck under the teacher’s right shoulder.
Other staff members caught the boy as he tried to flee. The injured teacher was rushed to a private hospital where he remains in the ICU.
According to police, the student was angry after being slapped and scolded by the teacher two days earlier for failing to answer a question in class. On Wednesday, he brought the weapon to school hidden in his lunch box. A case has been registered against the student, and he has been taken into police custody.
The shooting triggered panic among students and teachers.
