Jhelum water level rising, situation under control: Flood & Irrigation Dept

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 03 (STC): The water level in river Jhelum is gradually increasing but the situation is currently under control, said the Flood and Irrigation Department.
As per the Gauge readings provided @ 11:00 AM, following information has been provided by the authorities:
(A) RIVER JHELUM
1) Sangam (21’/25′)=22.79ft
2)Pampore (4.5/5.0)=4.03m
3) MunshiBagh (18’/21′)=14.50ft.
4) Asham (14.0’/16.5)=8.10ft.
5) Wullar (1578.00)=1576.55m
(B) TRIBUTARIES
1) Vishow Nallah at Khudwani (7.75/8.50)=11.20m
2) Rambiyara Nallah at Wachi. (5.4/5.7) =2.88m
3) Lidder Nallah at Batkoot (1.5/1.65)=1.48m
4) Sindh Nallah at Doderhama (3.65/3.9)=3.24m
Officials also maintained that the situation is under constant monitoring. “Water level is rising but is being closely observed. At present, it remains under control,” a senior official from the Flood and Irrigation Department said.
Notably, as a precautionary measure, all schools and colleges have been closed, while the Kashmir University and Cluster University of Kashmir have postponed all its exams for today.
