Jammu–Srinagar highway reopens for LMVs

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 10 (STC): The Jammu–Srinagar National Highway was partially reopened today. The highest remained closed for over a week due to massive landslides at Thard in Udhampur district of Jammu division.
Official said the passenger movement was restored in the morning with light motor vehicles allowed to ply from 9:20 am onwards.
However, the movement of heavy vehicles will remain suspended until the damaged stretch is fully restored.
Officials said the restoration work continues and clearing the debris and stabilising the hill slope is taking longer than expected.
The authorities have advised commuters to follow traffic advisories while planning their travel on the highway.
