SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 06 (STC)
: Putting to rest persistent rumours of a postponement, the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) is going to conduct Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination for 2025 tomorrow on 7th December, as per the established schedule.
Reports quoting JKPSC Chairman Arun Kumar Choudhary said that the Commission has taken no decision to defer the examination and urged all aspirants to adhere strictly to the timetable already issued.
The confirmation, coming just hours before the exam, provides final clarity to candidates caught in weeks of uncertainty.
Notably, the pending government order on age relaxation, sought by aspirants to increase the upper age limit resulted in confusion among aspirants.
As per the reports,
the proposal was recently approved by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and forwarded to the Lieutenant Governor’s (LG) office for approval. But no word on the final approval was heard till date.
The Chief Minister’s office today publicly urged the JKPSC to postpone the exam, citing the “uncertainty resulting from Lok Bhavan’s delay in approving age relaxation.” However, the LG’s office quickly responded with a clarification, stating the age-relaxation file was received and returned on December 2 with a query to the concerned department, asking if it was “logistically possible to conduct the exam on December 7, by incorporating modifications in eligibility criteria at such a belated stage,” and noted that no response had been received for four days.
Meanwhile, the JKPSC CCE (Preliminary) exam will be held in two shifts tomorrow: 10:00 AM–12:00 PM and 2:00 PM–4:00 PM.
