Delta force organises veterans’ meet in Ramban

Soldiers Dharma extends beyond active service and its support for veterans and their families in nation building, said GoC.
RAMBAN, JANUARY 17 (STC): Delta Force of Indian Army organized a veterans meet to focus on the welfare of Veterans, Veernaris and Veeranganas here today.
The event was attended by over 200 Veterans, Veernaris and Veeranganas, most of them with their families, reiterating the close bond between the veterans community and the serving soldiers highlighting the efforts of civil administration in addressing their welfare and wellbeing.
Maj Gen APS Bal, SM, GOC, Delta Force, interacted with the Veterans, Veernaris, and Veeranganas. The GOC’s address emphasised that the Soldiers Dharma extends beyond active service and its support for veterans and their families in nation building.
The meet provided a platform for veterans to reconnect, share experiences and discuss welfare initiatives. Various welfare and service stalls were established to provide comprehensive support. Medical services included consultations by Army doctors and District Hospital representatives, blood tests and eye check-ups. Financial guidance was offered by SBI, ICICI and J&K Bank officials, ensuring veterans understood and could access post-retirement benefits and Defence Service Package accounts. The presence of district administrative officers ensured that grievances of veterans and their families could be heard and resolved promptly, reflecting a seamless collaboration between the Army and local administration.
Local administration and welfare representatives, including officials from Ramban District Administration, Social Welfare Department and NRLM/UMEED, assisted veterans in understanding government schemes, employment opportunities and community welfare programs. The Army’s grievance redressal mechanisms, including ECHS, SPARSH and other welfare cells, were also on hand to ensure that veterans’ issues were addressed efficiently and transparently.
Special attention was paid to Veer Naris, recognizing their resilience and vital contributions to the nation’s pride. The Army’s focus on holistic welfare, skill development, and community support highlights its commitment in ensuring dignity, respect and continued engagement of veterans and their families.
The Veterans Meet reinforced the Army’s message that its responsibility to soldiers does not end upon retirement. By addressing welfare needs, listening to grievances and fostering community engagement, the Army strengthens trust, goodwill and the spirit of # Wecare with its Area of Responsibility. Such initiatives serve as a visible demonstration of the Army’s dedication to its people, promoting harmony and reinforcing the ethos of duty, honour and care.
