Cabinet minister Sakina Itoo accuses BJP of pursuing divisive politics

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 21 (STC): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is pursuing divisive politics, while as the National Conference (NC) stands firmly for the unity of Jammu and Kashmir, said Cabinet Minister and senior National Conference leader Sakina Itoo today.
Itoo said the BJP has always thrived on division in society, while the National Conference believes in cohesion and inclusive politics. She said the party’s objective is to unite Jammu and Kashmir and safeguard the rights and aspirations of its people.
“National Conference believes that Ladakh should once again be made part of Jammu and Kashmir. The party reiterates the demand for the restoration of job and land rights, along with the reinstatement of the region’s special status,” she said.
She said the National Conference’s political approach is rooted in protecting the identity, dignity and constitutional rights of the people, in contrast to what she described as the BJP’s divisive agenda.
“National Conference will continue to raise its voice for unity and restoration of rights, as these issues remain central to the National Conference’s political vision, she said.
