LG Manoj Sinha speaks to Farooq Abdullah, assures probe into Jammu attack

SRINAGAR, MARCH 12 (STC): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has today spoken to National Conference president Farooq Abdullah. He assured him of a thorough investigation into the attack on him in Jammu a day earlier, officials said.
According to the reports, LG Sinha contacted Dr Abdullah over the phone and expressed concern over the incident.
The lieutenant governor directed Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat to conduct a comprehensive probe and ensure that those involved are brought to justice, they said.

Prabhat has been asked to expedite the investigation and ensure swift legal action in the case, the sources said.
Following the incident, senior officials have been put on alert and directed to carry out a security audit of all protected persons across Jammu and Kashmir, they added.
Strict instructions have also been issued to ensure adequate security arrangements and prevent similar incidents in the future, the sources said.
