Employees deserve respect beyond tenure: Dir School Education Kashmir

: Director School Education Kashmir, Naseer Ahmad Wani today emphasized that government employees must continue to receive honour, dignity and timely redressal of their concerns even after retirement. He stated that their lifelong contributions deserve the highest respect.
He made these remarks while briefing the media on the sidelines of a felicitation function held at Boys Higher Secondary School Soura in honour of the outgoing Principal, Firdous Ali Wani, who is attaining superannuation on March 31.
The Director highlighted the pivotal role of educators and institutional heads in shaping the future of society, stressing that their services must be acknowledged not only during their tenure but also beyond it through a responsive and humane administrative approach.
Praising the outgoing Principal, DSEK described Firdous Ali Wani as a dedicated and result-oriented officer who remained committed to institutional development till his very last days in service. He noted with appreciation that even just two days before his retirement,
Firdous Ali, actively conceptualized and pursued several key developmental initiatives for the school.
The Director formally inaugurated these initiatives during the function, including the launch of a first-of-its-kind robust, dynamic and AI-powered user-friendly school website, marking a major step towards digital transformation in the institution.
Referring to the already declared “Year of Academic Excellence – 2026” at the beginning of the academic session, the Director stressed the urgent need for continuous innovation, quality enhancement and adoption of modern pedagogical practices across all schools.
He emphasized the responsible integration of Artificial Intelligence in the teaching–learning process, ensuring that technology complements rather than replaces creativity and critical thinking among students.
He further directed all Heads of Institutions and teachers to strictly monitor the use of advanced AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini, ensuring their ethical and constructive use in academics.
Speakers on the occasion, hailed Firdous Wani’s exemplary leadership, academic vision and administrative acumen, describing his tenure as transformative and deeply inspiring. They acknowledged his relentless efforts in elevating academic standards and fostering a positive educational environment.
Warm wishes were extended to him for a healthy, peaceful and fulfilling post-retirement life, with participants expressing confidence that his legacy will continue to guide and inspire generations of educators and students.

The function was attended by several eminent dignitaries, including Senior Superintendent of Police Tariq Ahmad Wani, Prof. Bashir Ahmad Wani, Renowned Academician & Former Joint Secretary, JK BOSE, Joint Director School Education Kashmir, Muhammd Mushtaq, Chief Education Officer Srinagar, Ghulam Mohiuddin Bhat, former bureaucrat Muhammad Hanief Balkhi, Noted Orthopaedic Specialist Dr. Altaf Ahmad Kawoosa and distinguished educationist Syed Muhammad Amin, Media Advisor to DSEK Fayyaz Ahmad Fayyaz , along with former CEOs, principals, senior officers, alumni and prominent citizens of the area.
