NC not to compromise political ideology for power, says CM Omar Abdullah

: National Conference (NC) will remain committed to its political ideology and won’t alter its stand for the sake of power, said Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said while talking to reporters in Bandipora district today.
He was on a tour of the district to review various development projects and assess the progress of ongoing works.
Asked about reports of some opposition MPs supporting the NDA on select issues, Abdullah said every party was free to take its own decisions, but the NC’s position was clear.
“The National Conference has a long political legacy and a set of values that guide its decisions. Those principles are not for sale,” he told reporters during a visit to Bandipora district.
CM omar said the party’s commitment was towards the people of Jammu and Kashmir and not towards securing political advantage through shifting alliances.
Abdullah said the government’s priority was to improve public services and ensure timely completion of development projects. He added that investments in infrastructure would help address long-pending requirements in several sectors.
During the visit, the chief minister also interacted with local residents and delegations, who brought to his notice issues concerning basic amenities, including roads, power supply, drinking water, healthcare and employment opportunities.
He assured the delegations that the administration would examine the concerns and take necessary measures wherever required.
