Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi visits Ladakh, reviews security and operational preparedness

SRINAGAR, JUNE 27 (STC): Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi visited Leh, the headquarters of the Fire and Fury Corps deployed in Ladakh, and took a detailed review of the operational preparedness, combat capabilities and security situation there. On this occasion, he exhorted the soldiers to remain alert, prepared and mission-ready at all times to deal with the changing security challenges.
According to the Army’s Additional Directorate General of Public Information, the Army Chief was given a detailed briefing on the current security situation in Ladakh, operational preparedness in the border areas, development of infrastructure, modern surveillance systems, mobility capabilities and coordinated operational measures.
General Upendra Dwivedi appreciated the professionalism, exceptional determination, sense of duty and their services for the defense of the country’s borders in the most difficult and high-altitude mountainous areas. He said that the soldiers deployed in the sensitive border region like Ladakh are the guarantors of the country’s security and their sacrifices are commendable.
Meanwhile, the Army Chief urged the military personnel to always remain alert in view of the changing regional situation, further enhance operational skills and be fully prepared to effectively deal with any potential threat.
He also conferred the Veterans Achievers Award on five distinguished veterans of Ladakh. The Army said that the services of such veterans are worthy of imitation not only for the defense community but also for the entire society, while they are also a great example for the current army personnel.
