1.9 million children to be vaccinated tomorrow against polio

SRINAGAR, JUNE 27 (STC): Around 1.9 million children between the ages of nine and five years will be vaccinated against polio during the National Pulse Polio Campaign in Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow.
Minister for Health and Medical Education Sakina Itoo appealed to parents and guardians to take their children to the designated Pulse Polio centers so that every child can be protected from this deadly disease.
Health department has completed all necessary arrangements for the successful conduct of the Pulse Polio Campaign, said Sakina Itoo. She said thousands of polio booths have been set up in the cities, towns and remote rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir, while medical staff and volunteers are also fully prepared to perform their duties.
The Health Minister said that the success of the Pulse Polio Campaign is not possible only through the efforts of the Health Department but also requires the cooperation of the public, parents, social organizations, religious leaders and local representatives. He said that the government’s top priority is to provide polio vaccine to every child so that Jammu and Kashmir can be kept polio-free forever.
