Sixth edition of Kashmir International Film Festival to be held in Srinagar on September 1 and 2

SRINAGAR, JULY 29 (STC): Sixth edition of the International Film Festival of Kashmir (IFFK) will be held in Srinagar on September 1 and 2, 2026, said its organizing committee in a statement issued to media.
This year’s festival will celebrate the completion of a journey spanning two decades during which the festival has become an effective platform for promoting filmmaking, creative expression, and dialogue between different cultures, reads the statement.
Festival Director Yaqut Mushtaq said that this year there was an extraordinary interest from filmmakers from all over the world. He said that the programming committee received more than 200 films, out of which, after careful review, 24 of the best films have been selected for official screening.
This year’s festival will also feature a number of South Asian and Asian premieres, offering filmgoers the opportunity to see works based on new and unique themes, he said and added that the selected films represent diverse cultures, ideologies, and unique storytelling styles, reflecting the festival’s commitment to cultural harmony and meaningful artistic exchange.
According to the organizers, details of the festival’s full program, film screening schedule, special events, guest delegates, workshops, and other activities will be released in the coming weeks.
