Terrorism cannot defeat a determined nation, says LG Sinha

Hands over appointment letters to the relatives of the terror victims.

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 05 (STC): Handing over appointment letters to the relatives of the victims of terrorism on the occasion of seventh anniversary of abrogation of Article 370 here at the SKICC today, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated that this day sends a message to the enemies of peace that terrorism cannot defeat a determined nation.
“The handlers of terrorists sitting across the border may plot in the dark, but the light of justice and its long arms will find them. The future of Jammu and Kashmir will be written by its youth, workers, farmers, teachers, women and all those who believe in peace and development,” said LG Manoj Sinha.

He handed over appointment letters to 37 close relatives who were mercilessly killed by the terrorists. Speaking on the occasion, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that it is an honour for them to stand with the families of the victims of terrorism on this historic day and this is not just a matter of providing appointments but an opportunity to remember the martyrs, provide justice to the families of the victims of terrorism and renew the resolve of the nation.
The Lieutenant Governor said, “I pay my heartfelt tributes to the innocent citizens who were martyred by the terrorists and salute those families who, after decades of suffering and waiting, are holding appointments in their hands today that restore their dignity and livelihood.”
Sinha further said that for decades, the pain of the families of the victims of terrorism was ignored and their wounds were not seen.
He added that our resolve is reflected in decisive actions. After August 5, 2019, we have largely eliminated the ecosystem of terrorism, strengthened law and order, restored equal rights and created opportunities for families to rebuild their lives with confidence.
The Lieutenant Governor further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the deprived sections, tribals, displaced persons and refugees from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Chhamb have got full citizenship, voting rights and property ownership under the Indian Constitution. He said that farmers and artisans are creating new opportunities. Our universities, colleges, research and incubation centres are preparing the new generation for global competition. He said that the families of terror victims who received appointment letters today are among the many families who have benefited from the new system established after the abrogation of Article 370.

Chief Secretary Atul Dallo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, Principal Secretary Home Chandrakar Bharti, Commissioner Secretary GAD M. Raju, IGP Kashmir VK Bardi, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garik, Chairman of Save Youth Save Future Foundation Wajahat Farooq Bhat and other members of the foundation, high officials, members of various social organizations and families of victims of terrorism were present on the occasion.
