IUST inaugurates special 15 day Aadhaar enrolment and update drive

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 14 (STC): The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) inaugurated a Special Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Drive being organised by the Dean of Students, IUST, in collaboration with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on Thursday at the Mehjoor Auditorium, IUST Main Campus. The drive will continue from August 13 to 27, facilitating Aadhaar enrolment and update services for the university and local community.

Prof. Shamim Ahmed Shah, Registrar IUST, inaugurated the drive and highlighted the institution’s efforts to make essential services more accessible to its students and staff. He said, “These shared efforts are undertaken for the well-being and convenience of our students and the entire community.” He further added: “This drive is being extended to the local Awantipora community as well, and we hope to continue serving our entire community in similar ways in the future; it is, after all, a noble and rewarding cause.”
Speaking on the occasion, Dean of Students, Dr. Moinsa Qadri, said, “The University has collaborated with the UIDAI Project here, who have deputed a team of professional operators to IUST initially for 15 days, and based on the requirements, we may offer the services again in the future. This drive will facilitate easy access to these essential services within the campus without any time, geographical, or scheduling constraints.
The team expressed hope, seeing the enthusiasm among the beneficiaries, that the university community, as well as the local community, would utilise this facility and ensure that their Aadhaar details remain updated. Also present during the launch were Project Coordinator NSS Dr Tariq Ganaie, Head Watson Crick Centre for Molecular Medicine Dr Rais Ahmad Ganai, Sohail Wani (UIDAI) and other officials.
