Security forces arrest five terrorist aides in Kulgam, pistols & hand grenades recovered

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 26 (STC): Security forces in southern Kulgam district have claimed to have arrested five terrorist accomplices and recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition during a joint cordon and search operation. According to the reports, the operation was carried out jointly by Kulgam Police, 9 Rashtriya Rifles and 18th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Bogam Baghat, Kulgam.
A senior official said that a joint cordon and search operation was launched based on information received regarding suspicious activities in the area.
Five people were taken into custody during the operation. Authorities said that four 9mm pistols, four magazines, 22 bullets and two hand grenades were recovered from the possession of the arrested persons. The recovered weapons and ammunition have been taken into custody, while the arrested persons are being further questioned to obtain information about their possible links and other associates. According to authorities, further investigation into the matter is underway and further arrests or recoveries in this regard have not been ruled out.
