PM Modi to visit Ladakh soon, says Union Minister Kiren Rijiju

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 29 (STC): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon visit Ladakh to review the ongoing development activities in the region and inaugurate other projects, says a report quoting Union Minister Kiren Rijiju.
Addressing the Silver Jubilee Foundation Day ceremony of Druk Padma Karpo School in Leh, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju announced that the Prime Minister will visit Ladakh and directly express his views to the people there. However, the Union Minister did not announce the final date of the Prime Minister’s visit. According to sources, several development projects are likely to be inaugurated and foundation stones laid in the Union Territory during the Prime Minister’s visit. Some of these projects are nearing completion.
He said that the Prime Minister has been wanting to visit Ladakh and interact directly with the people of this region for a long time and this wish of his may be fulfilled soon. He said that special attention is being paid to the development of Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir and the North-Eastern regions under the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Ladakh is very close to the heart of the Prime Minister and the Centre is continuously taking steps for the development of the region, Rijiju said and added that the Prime Minister has always believed that regions like Ladakh need special attention and since becoming the Prime Minister, he has been working in this direction.
